What to do after an incident

If you are dealing with an accident or loss, these steps can help protect people, reduce additional damage, and make reporting smoother.

  1. Make sure everyone is safe
    Check yourself, assist anyone injured, and help protect property from further damage when possible.
  2. Call 911 when needed
    For emergencies, call 911 first. Once the scene is stable, notify GIA as soon as you can.
  3. Capture the key details
    Provide accurate information, including:
  • Date, time, and location
  • Full name and contact information for all involved parties
  • A clear description of what happened
  • The damages and any injuries
  • Names and contact details of witnesses
  • Vehicle details (make, model, color) when applicable
  • Photos, videos, and supporting documents if available
